Team Breakdown 19/30: Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos are one of the few teams who have yet to see what the World Series stage looks like. Often they are a training grounds for greats like Pedro Martinez, Vlad Guerrero, Moises Alou, Larry Walker and now Stephen Strasburg. The Expos had the best record in the National League in 1994, but the strike forced this season into obscurity (Side note: Every year in MLB video games, the first two teams on the screen are the ones who went to the World Series. However in 94 it was based on the best records before the strike which would have set up a White Sox and Expos fall classic).

Team Breakdown:
World Series wins: None
Favorite Moment: The Expos are forced to play in Puerto Rico where they actually like baseball unlike Quebec.
Least Favorite: Stephen Strasburg fans 14 Pirates in his MLB Debut
Ooops trade: Indians trade Bartolo Colon to the Expos for Brandon Phillips, Grady Sizemore and ...Cliff Lee.
Player to already have a blog written about him (Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd)
Franchise Player: Gary Carter/Tim "Rock" Raines/Vlad Guerrero
Forgot he played: Randy Johnson
Never Knew: Ted Lilly

Team Breakdown 18/30: Philadelphia Phillies

(the Philly fanatic is one crazy mascot)

Before the Phillies (also known as the Quakers and Blue Jays) had arguably one of the best rotations ever (Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt), they were the laughing stock of baseball (which now belongs to in-state rivals Pittsburgh). The Phillies had 16-consecutive losing seasons from 1933-48 (a record broken by the Pirates current 18-year losing streak that goes back to 1993).

The Phillies however have still managed to sneak in two World Series victories and a handful of appearances. Phillies fans are known to be rowdy, whether its throwing batteries at JD Drew, vomiting on little girls or getting tased on the field.

Team Breakdown:
World Series wins (1980, 2008)
Favorite Moment: The Phillies keep Cliff Lee away from the Yankees (again)
Least favorite: Phillies fans still exist...and they're probably Flyers fans too.
Franchise Player: Mike Schmidt
Forgot He Played:Kenny Lofton
Never Knew:Jimmie Foxx
